Do Now:

We visited three Associated Supermarket Locations. Use city-data to look up some stats about the neighborhoods.

  • Washington Heights

  • East New York (Brooklyn)

  • Chelsea

Which neighborhood do you think will offer better quality food within the grocery store Associated Supermarket? Explain your response. You can use prior knowledge, evidence from city-data, and knowledge from our field trip to respond appropriately.

We will work in two different groups today! One group will be running the pesticide test! The other group will be completing research based on pesticide testing and the effects of pesticides on human health. Follow the instructions below for your group.

Research Team

  1. Finish plotting the points for all maps. Send to tboney@hudsonhs.com and imprahlad@gmail.com

  2. Using a search engine online (Google,

Bing, Yahoo...) find out how certain

     pesticides affect human health.

  3. List 3 other pesticide tests that we could

have done to provide more reliable and

     detailed data for our experiment.

Pesticide Test Team

  1. Identify the variables of the controlled experiment.

  2. Identify the conditions placed on both

     the control and experimental groups

  3. Procedures for the experiment are as

     follows:

Look at the image at the top of the page to determine if your results are positive or negative.

  4. Create a data table for recording your

     data. Carryout procedures and record!

  5. Identify the type of graph(s) that are

     appropraite for this data.

  6. List another pesticide test that we could        have done to provide more reliable and      detailed data for our experiment.
